Hi. I am here to tell you my story and why I believe in the power of creating your own personal system of finance. Let’s start with the understanding that we don’t know what we don’t know. I thought the money I was putting into my retirement every month was safe. I chose the investments, and I looked at the lifetime yield of the investments I had chosen, and I chose the ‘safest’ ones because I am not a person who is all about risk in the stock market, no matter how young I am. However, when the market tanked a couple of years ago, I learned that even those very safe places I had put my money, were not at all safe.
Now I am a single mother raising two beautiful girls. I want to give them the best, as any parent would desire to do. My daughter Faith is hearing impaired, and needs hearing aids and braces all this year. I think ‘great – I have a lot of money in my retirement account, let’s borrow it!’ Nope, sorry, thanks for playing, but you can only get 50% of the money you’ve put into it – the rest is…….UNTOUCHABLE. Really? But it’s MY money…Yes, that’s true, but it doesn’t matter…..
More important than anything else, I want to know that I am doing everything in my power to establish the best future I can for my girls. And that’s where creating a personal system of finance comes in.
I first began learning about IBC last summer from a great friend, and as the time went by, I read books and researched, I learned that not only could I be in control of the future of my money, I would have the same control over my money each and every day, and that I could use that money just like when I go to the bank for a loan, except I am decision maker on every loan I get! I recapture all the principal and interest I would have paid to a bank, and all the while my money grows at full value in my policy. Now I have a way to pay for Faith’s hearing aids, glasses, and braces….and a car, my credit cards, anything! All the interest I am spending comes back to ME….so long as I remember that even though I am my own bank, I can’t cheat myself, I have to pay those finance costs to myself.
And it gets better…when I am ready to ‘retire’ (to me to retire means to slow down too much, I may slow down a little), I can draw passive income off my policy tax free! And when I’ve drawn as much as I can tax free, I can still continue to take policy loans without a tax impact.
Wait, there’s one more thing – when I die, and yes, someday I will though I plan to live at least one hundred years, I am going to leave a LEGACY for my children! And while they are alive I will set up policies for them, and teach them to become their own bank, so that through time, we will continue to leave a legacy for our children, and for our children’s children, and generations down the line. And where did it start? It started with ME, at such a time and place as now……what on Earth could be more amazing than that?!

There is no day like today!
As women, we are the ultimate description of the multi-tasker. And a result, we can easily become burned out, knocked down, and dragged out. What separates the person who is living their best life from the person who doesn’t even feel like they are living their life? Quite simply, order of importance, or is it that simple?
I once was at a point in my life that I prayed and asked God and myself on a daily basis why I felt like my life was a movie, but I wasn’t playing my own character? I seemed to have everything a woman ‘should’ want – a husband, 2 beautiful daughters, a secure job close to home, a house, two living parents, dogs, and a yearly summer vacation. But yet I went through my life day by day, and I began to sense more and more that rather than living my life, I was merely watching it pass me by.
This intrigued me, so I began an investigation on it. I realized that I was so busy living my life for all the people around me, I had forgotten what it felt like to be alive! I got the kids off to school every morning, went to work, and at the end of the day homework, dinner, baths and bed. Before I knew it one day turned in to the next, and I lost time that will not be recovered again.
Now what?
We all have the moment in our life where we realize that everything up until then was completely meaningless, and that we are made for something bigger than ourselves. My moment hit, and I have never looked back since. For me, this was a total life awakening moment, after which I knew I couldn’t watch other women walk a similar path and not attempt to help them put a spring back in their step!
So what does this mean?
You may be struggling in one area of your life – finances, employment, marriage, relationship, children, fitness, nutrition, or for some, it feels every area is lacking. All these areas of your life must be in the proper balance with you at the center of it making sure no single area gets too much of your time. Once the balance is unevenly weighted, that’s when things get out of control, and that’s when auto-pilot takes control of your life, and you stop being the driver of your destiny.
And that’s why I am here – to help women just like me overcome these obstacles in their life that is holding them back from living their best life, and make sure they are positioned exactly where they need to be – in the driver’s seat of their life!
